Fiv5Online seems to have begun to adopt bad habits from colleagues with a dubious reputation. What should we build a restaurant, bar, hotel? Sheer trifles, especially with a well-oiled scheme and a handful of typical plans. Better yet, tie all the structures into a single infrastructure and try to overtake some SimCity. Only there is no smell here.
Divide and rule
The developers began their "reform" with the hotel business. They managed to create an engine, refine it with visual effects, draw new textures, which they pulled on slightly updated models - this is how Hotel Giant 2 appeared. In it we also got acquainted with restaurant concerns: the choice of furniture, dishes and the number of personnel, and we could guess than will delight Restaurant Empire.
I will not argue that the authors used the same developments in Restaurant Games Empire, however, judging by the individual details, I am not far from the truth. The interface elements have completely migrated from RE, cosmetics are clearly presented by HG 2. The floors sparkle, the arrangement of objects is made in the same style, even the design of the menu pages sometimes coincides. In a word, they saved a lot of time.
However, the graphics do not indulge in flashy images of food: the pixels have increased, but the enlarged versions are still small. A riot of colors and stylist's fantasies do not awaken appetite. The interior, on the other hand, is lucky. Until now, we have been content with a meager assortment of tables, albeit individual for each type of restaurant, and rare functional (with high Comfort and Decoration) items. Now we are regularly visited by representatives of furniture salons and factories. There are more beautiful and comfortable furniture, and which of the characteristics to choose is still a question.
Life at the stove
The hero of Restaurant Empire played his role with dignity: he returned the former glory to the institution, which he inherited from his uncle, eliminated a competitor and got a young wife. It's time to fade into the background, making way for the young lady, and with her - for coffee shops and dessert shops. Oddly enough, in restaurants, people adhere to the food culture, i.e. in the morning they drink tonic drinks and order light breakfasts, and in the afternoon they demand something weighty. Soups, main courses and desserts are used. Coffee houses are a different matter: here, despite the fact that there are snacks on the menu, preference is given to different types of tea and coffee.
Chefs have received specializations in new areas of culinary. The kitchen should still be run by a horde of specialists, since, alas, there are no generalists. We have to recruit a team and expand the area. Chefs constantly offer their services, but it is impossible to understand what a candidate is strong in - first you need to take him to the staff. Recipes brought by beginners generally need to be unearthed in a large list, relying on memory. No changes.
Crowding the menu to capacity is not a problem. The trouble is that the quality of the dishes in the early stages leaves much to be desired, and the wards are not very good at it. In RE 2, less experienced cooks can learn from older fellows. New items and secrets for famous treats are sometimes revealed by story characters, but mostly visitors share them in exchange for an appropriate reward. In the second campaign, which is essentially a continuation of the game (the first is a complete copy of Restaurant Empire), money can be invested in creating recipes and improvements. Taking part in a TV show that has replaced culinary duels is unprofitable and boring, unless, of course, you enjoy an arcade game like Lines. Another way to influence quality is to look for (or rather, they are looking for you) suppliers of ingredients.
But all this has already happened, where are the raisins? Having studied the additional literature, the developers have done a lot of things. They brought out a hundred more unprecedented dishes into the light. We have compiled themed decorations - from now on, gourmets enjoy a meal in the rainforest or in the depths of ocean waters. Actors and singers were released on the stage (except that there were no gypsies with a bear). Added items that for some reason were called mysterious: cookbooks that increase skill, subscriptions to fitness clubs that help raise the spirits of subordinates, gifts, and more.
With grief in half, Enlight Software has collected new updates for a full-fledged addon, but assures that it has made a breakthrough. Dreamers. The main cripple - the interface - was not really examined, they thrust another crutches and said "dance". Micromanagement is useless. On the menu, we cannot immediately see who is assigned to a particular dish, we cannot compare all the chefs - you need to keep in mind the skills of Mario, Pierre, Armand ... Game mechanics let us down. Tables and decorations need to be arranged wisely so that guests do not stumble or crowded, but in an empty corridor, colliding, two boobies first stare at each other, and then perform maneuvers worthy of tracked transporters. God forbid a third will join them ... In the kitchen it is like death. Even if the delay is solely due to the speed of preparation, disgruntled customers will still complain that the food was served cold. In addition, half-blind waiters often go to ram, taking down everyone they meet, so that in the end, some orders do not really reach the addressees. Chaos.
